Hirwaun Guides and Brownies celebrate Thinking Day 2008
February 24, 2008
Hirwaun Guides and Brownies joined the Cynon Valley Thinking Day event held at Mountain Ash this week.
Thinking Day is the joint birthdays of the founder of Scouts and Guides Robert and Olave Baden-Powell. The date was first celebrated in 1927.
Guides all over the world celebrate in different ways. In Westminister a special service is held where a wreath is placed on the Baden-Powell memorial stone.
This year in the Cynon Valley Rainbows, Brownies, Guides with their adult leaders converged on the Mountain Ash Y.M.C.A. and did crafts and activities connected with many countries of the world.
