Thoughts after the Hirwaun Remembrance Parade

November 14, 2007

Many people came to the Service at Hirwaun for Remembrance Sunday 2007 After the Parade was dismissed, members of the public were invited to join the Hirwaun Royal British Legion at Hirwaun Rugby Club for light refreshments and a raffle.

Young and old came to the event along with representatives from across the Community. It was a splendid occasion seeing so many people and organisations together in one place in Hirwaun.

Many people had the opportunity to ‘catch up’ with friends and comrades at Hirwaun Rugby Club.

The Hirwaun War Memorial was erected in January 1924.

There have been many Wars since this date, and small Welsh villages like Hirwaun have lost many people in those wars.

The younger generation of Hirwaun came to pay their own respect on a memorable day for themselves and all the community of Hirwaun.
